Here's my fight that happened this weekend in onlinemma
Watch live video from OnlineMMA on Justin.tv
The other 2 fights were no shows.
I also watched Titan Fighting championship this weekend and it was entertaining due to having a good deal of first round finishes. I did have a problem with the "John Ott vs.Jake Rosholt" DQ knee cause I believe it wasn't intentional and it should be a No contest or tie instead of a gimme win to John Ott, I mean who can ever say "I won a fight by getting kneed in the head", especially when John was loosing the entire fight little by little in every round. The main event was suppose to be this return to form Jens Pulver vs. workhorse Brian Davidson. Jens looked in better shape and he is trying to get back into a bigger promotion but now he's backed into fighting dangerous guys with less of a name. These are fights Pulver really can't afford to loose cause it knocks him down the ladder faster then he can climb it. Pulver even said he's usually the other guy's biggest fight and he's expected to win. The risk of loosing vs the reward of winning doesn't seem to be worth taking fights with lesser known fighters but it's Pulver's choice, maybe he's past his prime? maybe when he fought the competition wasn't as stacked? The answer doesn't really matter cause Pulver's still ready to fight and as for the man who beat him. I don't know if Brian Davidson is still going to pursue fighting but this defiantly helps his gym in terms of promotional material.
As for the big UFC card this weekend, I heard some buzz about the Struve KO and it seems the winners of the 2 fights I was interested in are the ones I expected to win, Rampage and Mir. I guess I'll catch them on UFC unleashed a couple of months from now.... still waiting for Zuffa to show more Pride FC and Strikeforce reruns on spike or VS or whatever.
A MMA Video Review Show with some other videos and articles added in for good measure.

My Schedule for next week
Well first off, I have to say that I'm not buying the UFC PPV this Saturday so I can't review it. I don't have my audio equipment yet anyways and besides I'm not rolling in cash so it's not a good idea to drop $45 on something when I just spent a little more then that on the audio stuff. This was a tough decision cause there are 2 fights on the card that I'm interested in, mainly Rampage vs Hamill and Mir vs Nelson. I'll definitely be checking forums for how these fights went.
I will be doing the TUF finale next weekend with Guida vs Petis and that should be a great card just for the main event. It's free too so that kinda helps in the decision making.
Speaking of free fights, I'm going to be fighting in Onlinemma this weekend. I'll be in all 3 cards starting this Friday so check it out. The fights will be live on their website using OMMA TV, they start at 7pm EST (-5 GMT). It's something to check out if you couldn't afford the UFC PPV or just can't get enough MMA even if it is simulated. I'll post the results of my fights after the weekend but if you check them out live or the website you can see the whole card.
Ok guys I gotta go and get ready for Fight Force, and with any luck I'll be back on track after the TUF finale.

Microphones and Strikeforce written review
Finally had some cash left in the budget to order some microphones. I got a shotgun mic and a cheap clip on mic as backup. I can't wait to try them out. As for my MMA reviews, I think I'll wait till I get my audio equipment before continuing them and I'll get back to pumping them out within a week of the event. So I'm going to be looking forward and not backwards even though I have things to say about the GSP vs Shields fight and Diaz vs Daley. I might just make those written articles since they happened a while back but they aren't worth doing a whole production since they aren't as new. Ah heck I might as well review one of them now in written format
Strikeforce Diaz Vs. Daley:
It was awesome. The card was worth seeing just for the names involved, I mean I won't lie, I'm a huge Aoki fan despite his shenanigans at Dynamite and he came out there and finally showed the American audience why there is no one as dangerous as him on the ground, with his first round sub of Beerbohm.
The Mousasi vs Jardine fight was a huge letdown, you'd expect Mousasi to run Jardine over but Jardine stayed in there, I have to give Jardine credit for that, he comes into the cage to fight. The thing is Jardine was a gatekeeper in the UFC and Mousasi is the Dream LHW champ, he should have finished Jardine. I know Jardine took it on short notice and to Mousasi's credit he was going to be payed his purse whether he fought or not but that fight wasn't a draw either. Even if we give Jardine round 1 a 10/9, rounds 2 and 3 were 10/8 in favor of Mousasi and even with that point deduction for the upkick, Mousasi should have won. The problem with MMA judging is that the judges are taught the same ass backwards way of judging that the current twits are judging fights. You see, Judges for whatever reason are taught to never give a 10/8 and when you have bad judges teaching new judges, guess what? You end up with terrible decisions like this which might not seem like a big deal but there are people who bet money on these fights, I'm pretty sure it's a big deal to them (I personally don't bet on fights but I have nothing against it). This fight is the only sour note on the whole card.
Melendez vs Kawajiri went like I expected. Most people believed that Kawajiri had the style to beat Melendez due to his win over Josh at Dynamite. The thing is Melendez is a different fighter since he got the belt from Josh and the way Melendez shutdown Aoki in their fight, I knew Melendez was something after that. Considering when Aoki fought Kawajiri, Aoki subbed him in less then 2 minutes and ran him over. A powerful and explosive wrestler like Melendez had no problem doing the same thing to Kawajiri on the ground with devastating elbows.
Nick Diaz vs Paul Daley was fireworks. It's fight of the night, both guys came to fight. Say what you will about Diaz but he didn't go out there and lay on Daley for 3 rounds while whispering insults in his ears like Koshcheck. Nick gave some colorful pre-fight and post fight interviews to Ariel Helwani which are worth checking out (basically he told Ariel he wanted to slap him silly). I really want Nick to fight GSP, I believe GSP can't play it safe with someone like Nick. Nick has terrific hands and his BJJ is superb, it clashes well with GSP's standup and wrestling.
I'll wrap it up by saying that this was the first major Strikeforce card with Zuffa watching and Dana White was there. I don't know what changes to expect for Strikeforce but I do know some employees are already being let go and replaced by Zuffa guys. I hope Strikeforce can maintain it's identity and not turn into a UFC clone *cough*Belletor*cough* but we'll have to wait and see. I will say that despite all the shit I gave Gus Johnson in my Fedor fight review, he was actually ok this time around. He didn't look like a wigless drag queen this time (no one will ever beat Frank Wigg), and he did a good job. Johnson also got to do an "Anchorman" zinger at the end of the broadcast since the fights took place in San Diego. Just before the credits, Gus says "Keep it classy San Diego", he gained some points for that one cause I got a chuckle out of it.

Criticizing Action: Arena
MMA in SPAAACEEEE!!!!
Show notes: I got a cold this weekend so I'm not feeling very well which means filming/shooting a MMA review isn't possible right now. So I decided to do Criticizing Aciton instead since it's mainly all voice over. I try to keep the mouth breathing to a minimal but it's hard when you can't breath through your nose.
For the more observant viewer, you will notice advertisements now in the video and on this site. You can claim I've sold out but I need a new microphone that will probably cost me around $50 and had I started using ads when I first began I would have enough to buy that microphone now. So ads are now being introduced but I promise that any small amount of money made will be put back into the show whether it's for a microphone, new camera, lights, or whatever else the show needs.
Another change is now anyone can comment. I didn't know this wasn't enabled. Sunny set up the blog, I'm just now getting started organizing things in it so now people can subscribe by email and leave comments without registering.

OnlineMMA: Fight Force 19
This is the Fight Force 19: Armed and Dangerous card I attended for the OnlineMMA organization.
Watch live video from OnlineMMA on Justin.tv
I won't spoil the ending on who wins and who looses.
Now that I've had a fight in OnlineMMA I can safely say it's a pretty fun group of guys. People mainly roleplay managers and each gamertag can have up to 3 fighters signed to it. It's a good mixture of fantasy and real MMA since most of the top players are big fans of the sport. I also want to stress out that OnlineMMA isn't a clan/camp or anything like that, you don't go online with "tags" or challenge other clans/camps. It's a fantasy league designed to give the player a more structured Multiplayer experience then what comes out of the box. The skill level is varied so don't worry if you aren't very good or think you're too good, there's always someone for you to fight. There's also pre and post fight interviews and breakdown analysis articles on the forums.
Post Fight Article
The Bushido league is fighting tonight which is the more advanced league which I'll be watching. I'll try to work on something this weekend with a little more substance and I'm really questioning on whether I should do the previous 2 fights I wanted to review or wait until the next major Strikeforce/UFC event to happen. I'll make up my mind about this pretty soon.

To Serve Man
It's a cookbook!!! or a cooking show as the case is here
It's strange how these always come out right before I work on something or get something out. I guess one should expect a video from me in the next couple of days cause that's the pattern with these, even though I haven't even started on a script but the gods of internet videos have made it a law that I must publish something after a "Cooking with Booze" episode.

Back and Feeling Great
I took it easy this weekend and tried not to think about the videos and it apparently worked. I feel rejuvenated and ready to start working on more videos in my free time. I just needed to play some games which is what I spent the weekend doing.
I'm playing EA MMA again which I kinda stopped playing since I was waiting for a patch and was getting the hang of making videos. The game is a little different thanks to the patch and the gameplay has improved making it closer to the actual sport, the only complaint I have about the patch is that it took away certain fighter stances and tattoos so people can't make custom Brock Lesnars or BJ Penns but since I like to use my own create a fighter rather then making a famous fighter, this doesn't bother me too much (but I was using BJ Penn's boxing stance which was awesome).
I've even joined a MMA CAF(create of fighter) fantasy/roleplay league called onlinemma. I've known one of the top fighters in it for a while and they seem like cool guys who are into MMA. They have fights every week in 2 different leagues (one for high level and one for medium level competition) and they broadcast the fights through justin.tv on Fridays. I signed up for Fight Force which is the entry level league and I'm hoping to get a broadcast fight this Friday (if I do I'll post the fight on the blog, even if I loose). A good deal of the fighters in onlinemma have made it to EA's Live Broadcast so if anyone wanted to fight some of the guys like "2good2betru3" and "you mom taps" then this is the league for you.
So in short if you own EA MMA and you want to join a league that will give you good CAF(create a fighter) fantasy fights with pre-fights and post-fight interviews/analysis along with simulated pay and rankings then onlinemma is something you should look into.

If you're still on the fence on whether to buy EA MMA on either the Xbox360 or PS3, well I recommend the game if you are an MMA fan and like multiplayer competition. The single player is rather dull after beating it once and UFC2010 is better as a SP game but EA MMA shines as a MP game with live broadcast, leaderboards, fight replays, fight cards, and belt matches. EA MMA's online modes are a ripoff of Street Fighter 4 but in a very good way cause there's hardly any lag and the fight cards feel like the old days when people would crowd around an arcade machine to watch 2 other people fight. I just wish there was a tourney mode online but you can't have everything. The game is only $20 now and it's worth getting new since you need an online code that comes with a new copy of the game to play online. So unless you want to play the SP, there's no reason to get it used cause you would end up paying $10 extra for the online code at the psn store or live store anyways. Apparently amazon has both versions on sale for around $12-$16, which is practically a steal

Well that's all for today's update, see you guys around on the xbox360 version of EA MMA.

Reviews are still coming
I know I was suppose to be caught up with the GSP vs Shields fight last weekend and I will get that one out sometime in the next 2 weeks along with the Strikeforce review that I'm currently working on. The reason for the delays is not performance anxiety or any personal problems it's some kinda strange writer's block. I have an idea what to say but it's hard to organize it and I've been beating myself up for missing my own deadlines which isn't helping. I'm going to try to take it easy and get my mind off the videos this weekend so I can tackle them fresh on Monday.
I just feel a little overwhelmed since I took over all the responsibilities of the show cause in the past Sunny would help me with the editing and by help I mean do it for me. She helped me get started and I'm very lucky to have a girlfriend like her who has put up with me during this whole process but she has her own blog and roleplays to get to so it was time for me to handle this so as not to suck up her free time any longer. She's also eventually going to make her video debut during the summer and there's no way she could do her videos and mine as well without going insane.
I've also been stressing out on the production side of things such as lighting, audio quality, website design, ect. The lighting should be fixed by the next show since I've been reading Sunny's old film/video textbooks which gave me a better idea about the art. You guys are gonna have to bear with me when it comes to audio quality till I figure out which microphone to get that is in my price range. As for the site, I'll get to that after the show is more polished.
There's a lot of things I want to do but I'm just one guy so I have to prioritize my time and accomplish one thing at a time. I'll try to make up for being late with other shorter videos cause I really want to do another episode of "Criticizing Action" which are easier for me since I have around 20 movies off the top of my head that have terrible/nonsense action scenes in them. I also want to do the game reviews but I keep getting the wrong crap from Amazon to capture off my consoles so that's annoying (I have to keep sending it back cause they send me crap I didn't order instead). As for the movie reviews, well it seems like until I catch up with my MMA reviews those are going to have to wait and I want to wait till I get my audio quality up before I do them anyways.
Either way it's nice to know people are watching them and that people visit the site even if they don't leave comments =P
I'd like to end this post and say to those who have kept showing up every week to see if I updated or checked out my blip.tv channel or my youtube channel, I appreciate it and thanks for watching. It makes it worth going through the challenges of figuring out how to make the videos better.
