Another State of the show post

It's been a while since the last update on this site so I figured now was a good time to let people know what I'm doing.

I wasn't going to do the strikeforce Henderson vs Cavalcante fight since I'm on a break so I can work on other videos but due to the recent acquisition of Strikeforce by Zuffa, I feel I need to say some things about that but it's not enough to justify a rant video so I might as well put it in a review. I'm going to begin filming this on the weekend. I'm going to film the UFC 128 PPV review as well this weekend so it's killing two birds with one stone. Expect to see the videos out sometime next week.

I have 3 side projects that I'm working on which have no real time tables attached. The Bloodsport review is SLOWLY being chipped away at and another episode of criticizing action is in the works. The third project is a special one that is more just a random video with sound bytes added in, this one will have to wait since I need to get some footage off a DVD that I don't have right now.

At some point I'm going to redesign this site so it doesn't look as cheap and be easier to navigate between the different videos (MMA review, Movie reviews, Game reviews, ect...)

Criticizing Action: Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman

Show Notes: This is mainly a practice video to get me warmed up for when I do "Bloodsport". I like to take baby steps which is why this video is so short. I'll probably do more episodes of "Criticizing Action" which will just be a small snippet from an action movie rather then a full review. Don't worry though, "Bloodsport" will get the 20 minute treatment and I'll name full reviews something else so as not to have confusion.

I learned quite a lot from making this one and since I'm not doing the UFC fight this weekend, I'll actually be working on my "Bloodsport" review. I'm not going to give a specific time-line for when it's done (it's all written and timestamped, just need to film/edit/commentate). The one thing I liked about doing this kinda video was that I didn't have a schedule to keep like with the MMA videos so it was more relaxing to do and I didn't have to worry about fact checking since it's mainly an opinion piece.

Strikeforce/M1 Global Fedor vs Silva

Show Notes: Just got back from Strikeforce Challengers and was uploading this before I left. I actually had this filmed on Wed. but due to scheduling, I didn't have time to edit it till Friday. Filming this was also a pain cause it was the first time I shot during the daytime and I kept getting interrupted by outside noise like the neighbor's dog or a helicopter outside. It was minor up until I got to talking about the Fedor fight, cause apparently at that point every neighbor on the block had to get out power tools and do some woodwork. I kept taking breaks during the noise but it was taking me 2 hours just to film a 15 minute segment and that's kinda why I look a little worn out when I talk about that fight. The noise is also the reason there are some minor edits throughout the video. I think I'll move the set into the garage at some point so I don't have to deal with that.

Notes: Yeah I had some bad allergies all week and decided to take a small break from the internet all last week to do stuff in the real world for a bit. I'm planning on going to the strikeforce challengers event on the 18th, so I might do a review/vlog for it like I did for the fight for the troops 2 card.

Notes on the show: So I'm testing out this new format to cut out the entire note taking process. Saw Spoony's Wrestle!Wrestle! TNA review and figured his way of doing things was better. Recording myself right after watching the fights was just overall less hassle then pages of notes. Hopefully I don't get in trouble for it. I still do my research but if I can't remember something off the top of my head then it probably wasn't too important. I also want to mention that my allergies are acting up so my eyes are burning and my nose is stuffy. It's what's known around where I live as Ceder Fever. When filming this on Wed. I had a mild case but now it's to the point where I'm sneezing at least 8 times an hour. I should have it under control for this weekend.

Updates: At some point I will be taking a break from MMA reviews so I can concentrate on my game/movie reviews. I was hoping to take a break next month but there are too many good fights next month and if I'm going to bother to buy a PPV event, I might as well review it.

Just got back home...

Wow, that was a once in a lifetime experience. We kinda had to Sgt. Bilko me into the event and there was a moment when I thought I was going to get kicked out. I however still had a blast and will get to watching the broadcast of the fight for my review.

I also scored an autograph from Cody McKenzie for Sunny's shirt that she got at the event.



I scored a cell phone picture with Cody looking badass and me caught in a stupid mid-smile grin.
