EA MMA 2!!!

Yeah I know it's not exactly breaking news but I was so stoked to find out this was going to happen that I completely forgot to post it here.

 All I can say is thank the maker. Sitting around waiting for a THQ patch for UFC3 was taking forever and the realization that THQ made 3 MMA games and figured out a way to screw all of them up made the future of MMA games seem bleak. I thought we were back to the same routine that I saw many games in the late 90s and early 2000s go where the attitude with their games was "No patches, buy a half ass sequel instead".

 People can say what they want about EA MMA but I liked it. Considering EA didn't sell as many copies of EA MMA then THQ sold of UFC2010, it was amazing to see EA actually attempt to patch their game and support it for as long as they did (EA MMA was considered a flop in sales by many). I always thought if EA got one more chance they could come up with something close to perfect and now they finally have it. Now that EA has the UFC licenses, I'm hoping EA puts more money and effort into the sequel since they are guaranteed great sales. I mean look at THQ's UFC games, they have mediocre graphics and online functions out of an Xbox1 game yet those games sold well into the millions on both consoles, imagine what a good game will do with that license.

 I'm expecting big things here. EA MMA 2 should blow us away and borrow it's gameplay from everything that worked in UFC3, EA MMA1, and Fight Night:Champions. The online should be up to par with Super Street Fighter IV Arcade in terms of rankings, tournaments, replays, ect.. I want to see full effort made and EA flexing it's resources with animations and graphics. I want pride FC, strikerforce, UFC, Classic UFC rules. I want it all and I'm hoping EA delivers the best MMA game made to date.

Wow! Lots of Drama Going On in MMA

I didn't catch the fight last weekend mainly cause I'm poor and have no interest in watching Rashad beat Tito. Kinda glad too cause I missed the whole "Wardrobe Malfunction" that occurred. More people are talking about the Golden Glory fighters being let go by Zuffa then the card itself, now there's definitely some juicy politics involved in that one. I could put on my conspiracy theory hat but then you would have to read 3 whole pages of crap to what would amount to "I have no fucking clue why this is happening".

Fedor being let go from Strikeforce is a big hit (for Fedor mainly). I know Fedor has ties to M-1 but unless M-1 actually promotes some big fights with big star fighters, it's basically "the Fedor League" and honestly the perception of American fans, is we don't even consider it a league, just Fedor's management. Maybe business wise it's smart for Fedor to stay with M-1 but for his fight career, it hurts it. It's one thing being beaten in a top league but what if Fedor fights a nobody and gets defeated? I personally don't want to see that, Fedor shouldn't be a stepping stone for up and comers, he earned the right to fight names just like Chuck Liddell earned the right to go out fighting top guys and not scrubs. It's a shame too cause everything was looking so promising after the Zuffa merger for Strikeforce but now they've lost 2 of their big name heavyweights and the female division (which according to Dana White doesn't have enough fighters) looses a top contender.... and what did Strikeforce gain from this? Keith Jardine..... well someone got shafted in this deal.

Dos Santos Vs. Carwin this weekend

UFC 131 is happening this Saturday and my pick is Dos Santos but this new slimmer Carwin might have the cardio and speed to threaten Santos and score a devastating blow. I'll be checking it out on Saturday for a future review.

I'm editing the footage I have but I probably won't be done till Monday. Just had some work I keep forgetting to do and practicing for my fights this weekend in OMMA.

TUF Finale This Weekend and Brutal OnlineMMA Action

I received one of the microphones I ordered and will be testing it out on my next video about the TUF finale. I'll try to watch the marathon that's going to be playing this weekend and see if I can spot the stand out fights or goofball behavior that happened on the show. From the majority of episodes I've seen it's been pretty dull but I heard the last couple of episodes had some good fights so I'll be sure to catch those.

OnlineMMA has some pretty big fight cards this weekend and considering the EA live broadcast this wed. was a little on the dull side due to no shows/disconnects and players basically playing with their opponents rather then finish them *cough*Mr NRG*cough*. I'm hoping it can all be made up with all the MMA action happening this weekend (real and fantasy). Check out the live fights on OMMATV or wait till after the weekend and I'll post the fights I was in but it's worth watching the full card especially if you are new to the game.

Notes on the show: So I'm testing out this new format to cut out the entire note taking process. Saw Spoony's Wrestle!Wrestle! TNA review and figured his way of doing things was better. Recording myself right after watching the fights was just overall less hassle then pages of notes. Hopefully I don't get in trouble for it. I still do my research but if I can't remember something off the top of my head then it probably wasn't too important. I also want to mention that my allergies are acting up so my eyes are burning and my nose is stuffy. It's what's known around where I live as Ceder Fever. When filming this on Wed. I had a mild case but now it's to the point where I'm sneezing at least 8 times an hour. I should have it under control for this weekend.

Updates: At some point I will be taking a break from MMA reviews so I can concentrate on my game/movie reviews. I was hoping to take a break next month but there are too many good fights next month and if I'm going to bother to buy a PPV event, I might as well review it.

Notes on the video: I know the video is a way too long so I don't expect people to watch it all in one sitting. I'm going to re-evaluate my note taking and analysis to cut the show down in length so it's more watchable next time. This episode almost didn't upload and now I'm having trouble with the SD conversion but at least it's out there and better late then never. I'm going to try to get it to convert to flash so I can post it on here without having to link to my blip.tv account. If it fails I'll upload it in 2 parts tomorrow.

Update: I got the video to convert to flash player so I can post it on the blogspot itself. Sorry for any inconveniences and this is all still a learning process for me. On a side note I'm kinda amazed it has views already when it's only been up for a couple of hours and hasn't been converted to flash player, so it's nice to know people were waiting for this. I'll step up my game for you guys cause you deserve the best show I can make.
