UFC fight for the troops 2 review

Intrepid Fallen Heroes fund

Any donations before Jan.29 will allow you to get the shirt or wrist band.

Notes on the show: So I'm testing out this new format to cut out the entire note taking process. Saw Spoony's Wrestle!Wrestle! TNA review and figured his way of doing things was better. Recording myself right after watching the fights was just overall less hassle then pages of notes. Hopefully I don't get in trouble for it. I still do my research but if I can't remember something off the top of my head then it probably wasn't too important. I also want to mention that my allergies are acting up so my eyes are burning and my nose is stuffy. It's what's known around where I live as Ceder Fever. When filming this on Wed. I had a mild case but now it's to the point where I'm sneezing at least 8 times an hour. I should have it under control for this weekend.

Updates: At some point I will be taking a break from MMA reviews so I can concentrate on my game/movie reviews. I was hoping to take a break next month but there are too many good fights next month and if I'm going to bother to buy a PPV event, I might as well review it.

Vlog explaining my trip

Going to visit my parent's place later to view the broadcast of the fight and start my review on it.

Just got back home...

Wow, that was a once in a lifetime experience. We kinda had to Sgt. Bilko me into the event and there was a moment when I thought I was going to get kicked out. I however still had a blast and will get to watching the broadcast of the fight for my review.

I also scored an autograph from Cody McKenzie for Sunny's shirt that she got at the event.

Photobucket

I scored a cell phone picture with Cody looking badass and me caught in a stupid mid-smile grin.

Dynamite just couldn't come together

I've been trying to work on this all weekend and the beginning of this week but the video never comes out the way I want it to. It's way too long and some fights I don't keep the enthusiasm up like I normally do. I've decided to scrap dynamite and strikeforce challenger review since both weren't going where I wanted and instead of taking another video shoot for them I would simply focus my attention on the UFC fight for the troops 2 which I will be attending so keep an eye out for me in the audience. The problem with this show isn't finding things to do, but rather finding the time to do everything I want with it.

Speaking of Fight for the troops 2. If anyone feels they want to donate or bid on auction items for "Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund"

Donate

Auction

A lot of the items in the auction are pretty pricey but they do have an Xbox Elite with Kinect going for $500(at the time of this writing) which has an autographed UFC 2010 game. I personally don't like the UFC game but at least it's autographed and will be a collector's item.

Aoki vs Nagashima Street Fighter Z

Ok, this will be the last one of the night and I'll get back to work on the Dynamite review.

Funniest MMA fight

Another video that pretty much speaks for itself. I would recommend watching the whole thing, cause like a good comedy the whole thing is played straight right up to the end where it becomes so funny even the announcers start laughing.

Van Damme's early roles

While doing some research for my Bloodsport review, I came across this early Jean Claude Van Damme video. I think it's pretty self explanatory.

Work continues...

I know I said I would have dynamite!! out today but honestly I needed a break after trying to get UFC 125 out with all the headaches of uploading and what not. I will shoot dynamite today at some point and try to edit it tonight but a safe bet would be that it will be out around the weekend. I haven't checked out Strikeforce:
challengers just yet but it's on the DVR at my parents place and I'm fairly confident I can have that out around the weekend too. Remember guys I have a life outside of the videos so it's not easy to find the required time to make them and because I'm new at these I tend to underestimate the amount of time it takes to get them out. I'm not being lazy with them, I'm just being human.

UFC 125 review

Save Tuptim website = http://savetuptim.yolasite.com

Notes on the video: I know the video is a way too long so I don't expect people to watch it all in one sitting. I'm going to re-evaluate my note taking and analysis to cut the show down in length so it's more watchable next time. This episode almost didn't upload and now I'm having trouble with the SD conversion but at least it's out there and better late then never. I'm going to try to get it to convert to flash so I can post it on here without having to link to my blip.tv account. If it fails I'll upload it in 2 parts tomorrow.

Update: I got the video to convert to flash player so I can post it on the blogspot itself. Sorry for any inconveniences and this is all still a learning process for me. On a side note I'm kinda amazed it has views already when it's only been up for a couple of hours and hasn't been converted to flash player, so it's nice to know people were waiting for this. I'll step up my game for you guys cause you deserve the best show I can make.

Some Technical Difficulties

OK, the video is done but it's running time is over an hour. This is making it difficult for it to upload cause it keeps timing out. I'm going to try again a couple more times and if that fails I'll split the video up into 2 parts. Sorry for the delays. I'll try something different for Dynamite!! and move away from play by play and stick to more highlights per round.

UFC 125 and Dynamite!! are coming I swear.....

OK, I got way behind schedule due to real life issues but I'm working on the UFC 125 review right now and I'll have it done today and I'm aiming to have it uploaded by the end of the day (with rendering and uploading there is a chance it could drag on longer but it will be done). So check back tomorrow and it'll be up.

I will have the rest of the Dynamite!! review done by Wednesday.

As an added bonus/apology for taking so long I will be doing the Strikeforce Challenger's card that happened last weekend. It will be in a slightly different format then my normal shows. It will be a straight Vlog with little to no editing and no pictures aside from the promo poster. I'm also going to use it as a test bed for a new method of note taking as well as to see if I can do minor league fights like MXC or King of the Cage reviews. If I feel comfortable with it and it doesn't take up as much time, then I will do Vlog format reviews for other leagues but keep the picture format I use for the big 3 (Dream, Strikeforce, UFC). This will be done by Thursday.

It takes me about 20 hours to do a 1 hour review show due to editing/rendering/uploading/filming/research/transferring footage from the camera to the PC. I tend to watch the fights multiple times and make hand written notes which cramps my hand and I end up with multiple pages of notes (Average 2.5 pages per fight all hand written, so a 5 fight main card turns into 12.5 pages of notes). I don't have access to a computer in the same room when I watch the fights so I transcribe those notes to the PC later, I type over 120 words per minute so that isn't that bad. Truth be told, the handwritten note taking is the longest process cause I just got done with my notes on UFC 125 and it took 6 hours!!! The main reason my notes are extremely detailed is I can't watch the fights at my apartment so I can't do a quick recap of the fight if I forgot something and it's a 15 minute drive to my parents' house to check the DVR so I make sure I write everything down. Once I get a portable video recorder and hard drive I'll be able to watch the fights again at my apartment which means my notes won't need to include everything that happened and I'll have access to a PC while watching the fight which will cut down on this time consuming method I have now.

The show is only a couple months old and all this is a learning process for me but I am enjoying it and it's nice to know that people are watching these and enjoying them as well. I'm also learning more and more about the sport I love and it's the only sport I watch and follow (aside from K1 and some boxing). I want to thank all those that have watched me go through the birthing pains of the show and I hope to streamline my process of doing them so I can get them out faster and I can work on some other projects I have planned (mainly the Bloodsport review and MMA game reviews which I can't wait to get started on). After Thursday I'm going to order the equipment/software I need for those and finish writing the script for Bloodsport so I can work on it between MMA reviews.

Fields Dynamite!! 2010 Mini Review

This is a short review of 2 fights, Aoki vs Nagashima and Sakuraba vs Zaromskis along with Frank Wigg as a bonus. I'll review the rest of Dynamite later this week but I just wanted to get these 2 fights out of the way since I had some footage that went along with the events.

State of the Show Jan 6th 2011

Quick edit, when I say I don't want composite cables, I meant component cables. I'm currently looking at Video Capture devices that take composite cables any suggestions are welcomed.
